The Visit Passes (Part Two)

Becca (Olivia DeJonge) and younger brother Tyler (Ed Oxenbould) say goodbye to their mother as they board a train and head deep into Pennsylvania farm country to meet their maternal grandparents for the first time. Welcomed by Nana (Deanna Dunagan) and Pop Pop (Peter McRobbie), all seems well until the siblings start to notice increasingly strange behavior from the seemingly charming couple.

Movie Scene Queen is hosting its second and final screening of The Visit before its September 11th release.  The screening will be held Tuesday, September 8th at 7:30 PM in the Waterfront.  Please comment below with your interest and your favorite grandparent visit.  To give you an idea of what I mean, I’ll start with my own visit… My paternal grandparents- God rest their souls- would always have everything planned when my sisters and I visit them.  On almost every occasion, my Grandma Winnie cooked a huge meal and then took us to Fashion Bug.  Good times!  They were crazy as hell, but they weren’t horror movie crazy!

Much Love,

Movie Scene Queen

  1. My grandparents would have treats whenever they visit me and my brother and they would tell stories before we went to bed. We would have so much fun whenever they visited.

  2. My grandparents were farmers. It was like a kid’s summer camp getting to visit them. Loved it! Very “old school”…in a good way.

  3. My grandpa (RIP) would build lil camp fire outside in the back & tell scary stories while we roasted chocolate marshmallow together & made the back feel like we was in the woods. He had this old radio that he would play creepy sound & have my uncle hide and jump out on us. It was such a good time but scary too. Lol 😬😬

  4. My grandma loved to help me read and watch granddad is the King of cussing. He would great me all the time by saying, “Who the hell are you!?” Or “What the f#$% are you doing here!?”. That was scary then, but it is funny now

  11. My grandparents were awesome!! My 1 grandmother lived with us, we had a large garden, & I remember sitting at the picnic table snapping beans

  12. This movie looks like it’s going to be crazy!! Growing up in Philly, my grandma was extra paranoid so we weren’t even allowed to go outside on the porch alone. My favorite though, was helping her pick grapes off of her grapevine in the backyard and watching her make wine and jam.. Bless her heart she was there for me all through life and died with her hand in mine 2 years ago.

  13. I loved going over my grandparents house and I would have my grandma make cookies in the kitchen and listening to my grandpap tell stories about when he was younger

  14. My Grandmom had a used furniture store and one day she gave me a flat, old doll house. Only,
    I never played with dolls!

  15. My grandparents didn’t speak English, only Slovak. My mom had to interpret for them. Grandma made our favorite foods when we visited pierohi!

  16. My sister and I used to take our baby dolls to my grandmother’s house and we would warm up their “formula” on her hot water registers. My grandmother always played dolls with us and make believe. Great memories! And of course, there was always tons of our favorite foods!

  17. My Grandmother had a Personal Care Home in her home. Every time we visited Grandma had asmorgasbord of food! Waiting on us…

  18. My grandparents lived in Wisconsin so would spend a month with them in the summer, my grandmother liked to take us to the mall once a week we would sit in the mall food court and “people watch” and every Sunday my grandfather would wake us up super early and we would walk a few blocks to the local bakery where we would each pick out our favorite donut they would be fresh still warm and absolutely amazing we would eat one while he drank a cup of coffee and then we would take a dozen home, he would always remind us that it was our special secret that we ate one before getting home to grandma I font think I have ever had donuts so delicious and fresh since those summers

  21. Unfortunately, my grandmother died when I was five but the one thing I do remember is the most wonderful breakfast that she would cook. There was fried chicken, fish or pork chops with grits or oatmeal, homemade biscuits with butter and syrup. We also had potates. Good eating. Never had cold cereal until she passed.

  22. I miss my grandparents and the dinners they used to have… Family is not the same since they have been gone… Would love passes to see this.!!!!!!!

  24. Every year when I was young I would drive with my parent s to drop off my older brothers at my maternal grandparents house in north Carolina. They would stay for the summer and work I only stayed for a few days why my parents. I always loved the smell and the warmth of that state. It was a different experience, i learned a lot and learned to appreciate different things like eating foods like okra., running through a cornfield, seeing poisionous snakes , and wild hogs. Oh and a city boy going in a country outhouse is defiantly a eye opener.

  25. My favorite grandparents pasttime would be going to the pirate game with them when I was much younger and spending the night at their house after the game! Nothing crazy happened at their house though that would compare to what would happen in “The Visit”!
