The Finest Hours 3D Passes

In 1952, a massive storm splits the SS Pendleton in two, trapping more than 30 sailors inside the tanker’s sinking stern. Engineer Ray Sybert bravely takes charge to organize a strategy for his fellow survivors. As word of the disaster reaches the Coast Guard in Chatham, Mass., Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Cluff orders a daring rescue mission. Despite the ferocious weather, coxswain Bernie Webber takes three men on a lifeboat to try and save the crew against seemingly impossible odds.

Movie Scene Queen is hosting an advance screening of THE FINEST HOURS in 3D on Tuesday, January 26th  at 7:30 PM at the AMC Waterfront 22.  If you are interested, please comment below with your ship wreck movie or story.  While most of you will say Titanic (1997), I will have to agree.  I’ve always enjoyed that movie!

Much Love,

Movie Scene Queen

  1. I would have to say Titanic, I initially thought Castaway then realized that was a plane crash not a ship wreck!

  2. My story starts out in a canoe slowly floating up to the falls at Ohiopile having lost the oars and then- Oh, it’s too grisley, I’m, I’m unable to continue — — —

  3. Yes Titanic was WONDERFUL!!! The Romance and the Loyalty was winner. I do Like The Older “Jaws” sequels with Roy Scheider. That Shark took a beating….

  4. “The Poseidon Adventure” (1972), recognized at the Academy Awards for special effects and title song. I still remember seeing it at the Chatham Cinema, which was located at 701 Fifth Avenue (Corner of Washington Place and Fifth Avenue – uptown). Aw, the memories!

  5. Castaway is one of my favorites, but I just watched the remake of the Poseidon which was very good. But anything with Chris Pine and those blue eyes works for me.
