Press Release: Movie Scene Queen Receives City Proclamation Alongside Pittsburgh’s Leading Ladies

Pittsburgh, PA May 8, 2019- Councilman Reverend Ricky Burgess will present a proclamation to declare Tuesday, May 14, 2019, as “Movie Scene Queen Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Movie Scene Queen (MSQ), an interactive entertainment blog for free movies and music, recently celebrated six years in business, hosting 215 advanced movie screenings, and distributing more than 50,000 free movie tickets to Pittsburgh residents.

Movie Scene Queen is calling on 100 queens to gather at the City-County Building at 10 AM to accept the proclamation. In celebration of women empowerment, one of Movie Scene Queen’s core values, Pittsburgh’s Leading Ladies are asked to stand beside founding owner Merecedes J. Williams as City Hall turns in to a gallery of accomplished female trailblazers.

“This day is more than glitz and glamour, but the celebration of women in business and their commitment to making Pittsburgh a better place,” said Merecedes J. Williams, founding owner of Movie Scene Queen. “Movie Scene Queen provides a platform in community service, a voice for the unheard, and access to entertainment for all.”

Later that day, City Council, Mayor Bill Peduto, and proclamation attendees are invited to a complimentary movie screening to commemorate the day. An advance screening of Universal’s A Dog’s Journey will be held at AMC Waterfront 22 at 7 PM. Starring Dennis Quad, A Dog’s Journey is about a dog who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he meets.
