The Little Mermaid Passes

The Little Mermaid, visionary filmmaker Rob Marshall’s live-action reimagining of the studio’s Oscar®-winning animated musical classic, opens exclusively in theaters nationwide May 26, 2023. “The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.

The Little Mermaid will be screening at AMC Waterfront 22 on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 7 PM. For tickets, please comment below with your favorite The Little Mermaid song or scene.

The Boss Passes

Academy Award®-nominated star Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Tammy, Spy) headlines The Boss as a titan of industry who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading.  When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget.

 The Boss Film Poster

McCarthy is joined in The Boss by an all-star cast led by Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage and Kathy Bates.  Directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy), the comedy is based on an original character created by McCarthy and written by McCarthy and Falcone alongside their Groundlings collaborator, Steve Mallory.  The film is produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day productions and Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy through their Gary Sanchez Productions.

The screening will be held Tuesday, April 5 at 7:30PM at South Side Works.  Please comment below with your favorite Melissa McCarthy moment.  Overall, I’m happy with her recent weight loss.  She’s clearly one of the top female comedian actresses.  In addition to the health plus, the weight loss with definitely open up more doors for her career.

TAMMY “Independence Pack” Sweepstakes

Funny Lady Melissa McCarthy stars in this new comedy as Tammy. After totaling her clunker car and getting fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint, it is clear that Tammy is having a BAD day. Instead of finding comfort at home, Tammy finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her own house. It’s time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she’s broke and without wheels. The worse news is her Grandma Pearl (Susan Sarandon) is her only option—with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. Not exactly the escape Tammy had in mind, but on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may be just what Tammy needs.
