The Hate U Give Passes

Starring Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, and Russel Hornsby, Starr Carter (Stenberg) is constantly switching between two worlds: the poor, mostly black, neighborhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer.  Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right. THE HATE U GIVE is based on the critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller by Angie Thomas and stars Amandla Stenberg as Starr, with Russell Hornsby, Regina Hall, Issa Rae, KJ Apa, Algee Smith, Sabrina Carpenter, Common and Anthony Mackie.

For tickets to the February 21st screening of Annihilation, please comment below with your favorite Natalie Portman film.  I still have yet to see Jackie (2016), but I thought No Strings Attached (2011) with Ashton Kutcher was a cute movie.

Live By Night Passes

Directed by and starring Ben Affleck, Live By Night is an action thriller set in the Prohibition Era and centered around a group of individuals in the world of organized crime.  What you put out into this world will always come back to you, but it never comes back how you predict. Taking fatherly advice is not in Joe Coughlin’s nature. Instead, the WWI vet is a self-proclaimed anti-establishment outlaw, despite being the son of the Boston Police Deputy Superintendent. Joe’s not all bad, though; in fact, he’s not really bad enough for the life he’s chosen.
